lela-Ghaffar Hussain

Ghaffar Hussain is born in England and has Pakistani Roots. He’s the head of the training for Britain’s Quilliam Foundation, an organization which fights against Islamic radicalization in England. In an interview with the SPIEGEL ONLINE he talks about the motivation and the reasons for young Islamic fundamentalists to join a terrorist organization.

For several years in his youth Ghaffar Hussain was a part of a radical Islamist group but because of his open mind and his interest in analyzing history and politics he recognized the narrowness of the Islamists. Currently he works against the radicalization and uses the advantages of his knowledge from his terrorist past. He exposes that lots of young men, who leave their country and their family, to join a terroristic camp, don’t feel adapted in society and can’t identify with their parent’s generation. In the Islamist groups they have the feeling to belong to somebody and feel attracted by the Umma concept, which says all the Muslims form a unity. Now they are being told that fighting is their duty and they have the urgent feeling to do something good and to fight for their conviction. Politics are explained very easily to them and they are pushed into a very narrow direction of understanding. Many of the members weren’t really successful in their earlier lives but in the terrorist organizations they feel like Heroes. They belief that there is nothing worthwhile left to return to their families. Suddenly they are convinced that they are the only ones who know about the truth and what is really going on. They think they are the real Muslims, neither influence nor corrupted by the West. They aren’t willing to discuss their opinions and they separate themselves from their parents, because they think they are better than they are.

But in fact, the religion is not the source they base on. The terroistic groups are motivated by politics! Ghaffar Hussain says that 90 per cent of their speeches are political ones but they justify their statements with the Koran. None of them have some religious background but they all belief they act in the wish of Allah. “They make their arguments look Islamic” (Ghaffar Hussain).

Ghaffar Hussain and his organization (training for Britain’s Quilliam Organization) have already managed to take away about 40 men from these organizations through individual conversations. Temporary they are only active in England but when they are successful they plan to expand their enterprise to other countries.

Just imagine, you’re incureable deseased, and you have inconceiveable pain. But without help, without an elevated dose of pain killers or even nerve poison you would have to suffer day after day.

Just imagine you just wished to die, to abandon your useless body to enter something like a new life. And even if there was no new life, just imagine the pains would be so horrible that you just want to end your life. A life which just causes pain and sorrows, also for your loved ones.

It’s your life, but other human beings are allowed to rule it. The government, medical scientists.. Although they know you have to die in a few weeks, maybe a few months, they want to keep you here. But you, you just WANT to go. It’s your decision to go. To leave because you know there is no hope and because you know you lived a full life and because you know it’s the right moment NOW.

You talk to your doctor. You talk to your family. Of course, for your family it’s hard to let you go. But the doctor. Why? Why can’t he just give you an overdose pain killers?

It’s because the majority thinks it would be a sin to “kill” you although you WANT to go and although you HAVE to go anyway.

Of course, there are many exceptions regarding this topic. But in a case, so clearly because of the evidence that you WANT to die and you HAVE to, nobody has the right to decide on it.

There was a case in France regarding a 52 years old woman – Chantal Sebiré. She was incurable deseased with cancer. This cancer caused unthinkable pains, this cancer deformed her face in a way you can’t imagine. She was desperate to die. Even her family fought for her wish to die dignifiedly. But her application of euthanasia was dismissed. Two days later she was found dead at home. Her corpse contained many chemical substances.

She died alone. Alone because euthanasia is proscribed.

Wal-Mart and its deeds of darkness - Venja

Wal-Mart is one of the biggest employers on earth but for sure as well one of the exploitative ones.

Denunciation
Spying
Electronic eavesdropping operation
Severe pressure
Fear to become redundant

Those expressions describe the typical everyday life as employee in a Wal-Mart store.

Price war
Wal-Mart can be described as a horrible monster in the world of economics. Small stores are destroyed, jobs and variety are reduced. Working conditions are miserable. Wal-Mart presents itself as a pike in a carp pond that forces other competitors to change their business policy so that Wal-Mart can become more successful.

Freedom of press
Wal-Mart influenced offerers of periodicals to adapt to its conservative corporate philosophy so that those can still be sold in Wal-Mart stores. Those who did not submit to its will were excluded out of Wal-Marts shelves or were put in neutral covers. All in all those products which did not fit to the family-friendly image of Wal-Mart with which Wal-Mart attacks the potential buyer’s attention are excluded out of Wal-Mart’s commodities.

Several abuses against labour law
The first verdict in December 2005 – Wal-Mart is condemned to a payment amounting to 57 Millions of dollars addressed to about 116.000 former and actual employees of Wal-Mart because of denying them a break of thirty minutes.
Another 115 Millions of dollars were said to be paid because of not conceding a lunch-break to Wal-Mart’s employees.
Because of unpaid extra work, Wal-Mart was sentenced to pay 78.5 Millions of dollars to its employees in Pennsylvania.
